Coastal Paint Palettes

"Where they live is who they are plus a little bit of who they want to be.  Whipping that up is your special gift.  Colonial Cream or Vintage Vogue?  French Beret.  Hot Lips.  What you see in their soul goes on the wall.

And back in their hearts again.
For everything that matters there's a deep, rich, enduring color.
Its the color of people seeing themselves."

Paint Colors will set the mood for your living spaces.
There is psychology in color.  What moods do you want to depict
each in room?  Some great platforms to work from are: an understated great room,  pristine & functional kitchen, elegant dining room, a relaxing home office, serene master suite, whimsical sunroom, and an artistic
powder room.

Neutral beiges & gray:  are safe, orderly, subtle, calm, & emit understated
 confidence
Brown: suggests taking obligations seriously, industrious, respectful
White: clean & pristine
Black: elegant, & sophisticated
Green: reassuring, relaxing, prosperous, compassionate
Blue: no nonsense, reflective,intellectual, cool
Orange: warm, sensual, emotionally & creatively stimulating, fun
Red:exciting, boosts learning
Yellow: happy energy, sunshine

Purple: color of kings, divinity, royalty

                         Paint  101  Basics
Before you paint… test, test, test!   Small swatches will look a lot  different
than entire walls.   I suggest purchasing small amounts of paint to test on poster
boards.  This way you can move them around your home and study in morning, midday and night light.
      * Paint will naturally take on different hues in shadowed areas.
      * Paint color will look truest after the second coat
      * Matte paint absorbs & scatters light rather than reflecting.  It is widely
used by contractors as it covers seams.  One drawback is that it is not
         washable.
      * Eggshell/satin paint has a nice glow.  It is washable, hence great to use
in kitchens, baths, halls, laundry and children's rooms.
      * Semigloss hightens and reflects light, adds visual focus.  Used on crown
         molding, doors, wainscoting
      * If you love a color, but want to lessen its affect, it can be mixed 50%
      * To accent white crown molding, paint the ceiling 25% of wall color

The best part of paint, is its only paint.  Don't be afraid of color. It
can always be changed.  It is the easiest solution to creating the environ-
ment and mood for your personality.  No element speaks as loudly as
         color.
